The 2016 November general election is one week away and voters in Dubois County are reminded that they have more choices or options available if the wish to get their vote in early for next week’s election.

Satellite voting centers began opening up in areas around the county this pst Saturday.

In Jasper absentee voting began Saturday at the northside fire station located along the 100 block of 35th Street and will be open from 10 am and 6 pm today through this Friday November the 4th and Saturday the 5th.

Absentee voting is also available at the Huntingburg Event Center, the Ferdinand Community Center and the Dubois Library between 8 am and noon Saturday November 5th.

Satellite absentee voting sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in various communities on a select day.

Those locations are the Birdseye Fire Station, 9 W. First St. Today November 1st;

The Schnellville Fire Station, 8090 E. Schnellville Road tomorrow November 2nd;

The Haysville Fire Station, 177 W. State Road 56, Thursday, November 3rd;

and The Dubois Library on Friday Nov. 4th.

Early voting is open to registered voters, and they may go to any of the locations to vote no matter where they reside.

All satellite locations will have two voting machine available.

Now voting will continue on the third floor of the Dubois County Courthouse through next Monday, November 7th. Voting hours are from 8 am till 4 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and from 8 am till 6 pm on Wednesdays.

Folks can also vote at the courthouse from 8 a.m. to 3 pm this Saturday November 5th and from 8 am till noon Monday November 7th.
