Local authorities didn’t have to travel far when transporting a Spencer County man to jail after he was found to be in possession of drugs  at the Days Inn of Jasper late Saturday morning.

At around approximately 11:30 am Saturday, Jasper police were called to the Days Inn, located along the 200 block of Brucke Strasse, in reference to a male subject that seemed to be under the influence.

Police arrived and identified the man as 31-year old Christopher Johnson of Dale. Johnson was found to be in possession of a schedule II controlled substance. He was then taken across the street to the Dubois County Security Center were he was booked on a class A misdemeanor count of Possession of a Scheduled II Controlled Substance.
