Barbara Aline Johnson, age 79, of Jasper, formerly of Huntingburg, passed away at 1:25 a.m., Monday, February 13, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society – Northwood Retirement Community.

She was born January 29, 1938, in Velpen, Indiana to Roy and LoCallie (Jones) Resenbeck; was united in marriage to Donald R. Johnson on February 17, 1957, in Huntingburg. Barbara worked at Stork Hospital for 2 ½ years and at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the dietary department for 29 years. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg; Huntingburg VFW Auxiliary for 47 years. She enjoyed making crafts; playing bingo; collecting Santa Claus figurines; and her cats, especially Carmel Kid. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, on July 21, 2008; and one son, Randy Johnson, January, 29, 2002; Randy’s 1st wife, Sarah Johnson; three brothers, Bill, Roy “Joe” and Don Resenbeck; two sisters, Mary Carnahan, Ruth Kissell and 3 infant siblings; a step grandson, Matthew Gehlhausen
She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (husband, Kenneth “Kenny”) Epple of Jasper, and Sherry Merkley of Huntingburg, daughter-in-law, Theresa Johnson; eight grandchildren, step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. Pastor Mark West will officiate at the service. The Huntingburg V.F.W. Post #2366 Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.
