Douglas “Dumpy” Harmon, age 60, of Birdseye, passed away at 9:45 a.m., on Friday, February 3, 2017. He was born April 2, 1956, in Terra Haute, Indiana to Hubert Vern and Norma (Linthicum) Harmon. Mr. Harmon worked as a coal mine end-dump driver at Solar Sources. He liked Ford vehicles and working on antique hit and miss engines. He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Derrick (Kendra) Harmon of Augusta and Clayton (Karrissa) Harmon of Birdseye; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelsey (Joshuah) Baker of Indianapolis; his mother, Norma Harmon of Birdseye; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Terry (Susan) Harmon of Birdseye and Scot (Pam) Harmon of Eckerty; one grandson, Rhett Harmon of Birdseye; and by one niece and three nephews.

Funeral services for Douglas Harmon will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at the Birdseye Cemetery. Reverend Albert Madden will officiate at the service.
