On Saturday evening after just after 11:30 pm Jasper Police reported that a female victim came into the Jasper Police headquarters and reported to police that she was battered by her intoxicated husband in-front of their juvenile child.

She told police her husband, 32 year old elder Oswaldo Martiznez Guerra of Jasper also threatened her with a knife.

 

Martinez Guerra was later placed under arrest and taken to the Dubois County Security Center where he was booked on a Level 6 Felony count of domestic battery in the presence of a child and a Level 5 Felony count of intimidation with a deadly weapon.

 

Jasper Police were assisted by the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police.

 

In a separate incident early Sunday evening just before 6 pm  Jasper Police officers were dispatched to the Dubois Apartments Complex in reference to a female reporting she had been battered by 31-year old Chad Taylor of Jasper.

After an initial investigation by officers it was determined that Taylor had thrown a vacuum cleaner, striking the female victim in the face.

Jasper Police then took Taylor into custody and he was booked into the Dubois County Security Center on charges of Domestic Battery-Level 6 Felony due to a prior conviction.
