A traffic stop thanks to a trailer’s expired license plate in Jasper led to the arrest of a Vanderburgh county man Thursday night.

Just before 11 o’clock last night, an officer with the Jasper Police Department conducted the stop on the vehicle with the trailer driven by 44-year old Joseph Brown of Evansville.

Police say the officer requested assistance from the department’s K9 officer, who indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.

A search by police found a substance in a baggie on Brown and say the substance later field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Brown was taken into custody and booked into the Dubois County Security center on a Level 6 felony count of possession of methamphetamine.

Jasper Police were assisted at the scene by the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
