A Jasper man was injured over the weekend following a one vehicle crash involving a tree.

The Dubois County Sheriff Department was dispatched to a single vehicle accident on CR 400 E near 700 N with injury Saturday.

Deputies reported that 58-year old Russell Mehringer of Jasper was heading north on 400 East in a 2016 Ford F 150 Pickup truck and just prior to the accident Mehringer drove off the roadway for an unknown reason.

The truck struck a large tree on the east side of the roadway where the vehicle came to a rest facing north.

Mehringer was treated by  First responders at the scene then transported to Memorial Hospital for his injuries.
