A Jasper man was arrested early Easter morning after police were alerted to the smell of burnt marijuana at a Jasper apartment.

20-year-old Jareth Wininger was arrested for Possession of Paraphernalia and on two warrants out of Orange County for Failure to Appear in Court on a charge of Driving without Ever Receiving a License and Failure to Appear on a charge of Possession of Methamphetamine after police were conducting extra patrol early Sunday morning.

Officers made contact with multiple subjects inside an apartment at the Jasper Lofts located at 1300 Dewy Street who advised that they had just recently smoked marijuana. During the investigation, Wininger was identified and it was discovered that he had two warrants through Orange County

Wininger was booked into the Dubois County Security center where he is being held without bond.
