Barbara A. Hoffman, age 88, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2019, in Brookside Village in Jasper, Indiana. 

Barbara was born in Jasper, Indiana, on September 20, 1930, to Richard and LaVena (Opel) Huther.  She married Lester H. Hoffman on May 22, 1951, in Our Lady of Springs Catholic Church in French Lick, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on July 11, 2008. Barbara was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, D of I, St. Ann’s Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved spending time with family and playing cards, and enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crocheting, and spending time at Deerwood Lake. 

Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Miller, Jasper, IN, Michelle Schmitt, Indianapolis, IN, one son Scot L. (Cheryl) Hoffman, Ferdinand, IN, eight grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death besides her husband are one son, Danny Hoffman, and two brothers, Richard Lee and Robert “Bob” Huther. 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara A. Hoffman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. 

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center, or a favorite charity.
