A Jasper man was booked into jail Thursday afternoon on failure to appear in court warrants.

23-year-old Joseph B. Vaughn was charged with Level 6 felony theft in March.

Vaughn was charged in connection to the theft of Disaronno liquor from a CVS Pharmacy on Main Street in Huntingburg on February 3rd.

After the Huntingburg Police Department investigated the incident, authorities upgraded the charge to a felony because of a prior theft conviction.

Vaughn was called into the Dubois Superior Court in May for an initial shoplifting charge hearing but failed to appear. Vaughn also failed to appear for a separate hearing about a motion to revoke his probation in a 2018 theft convection. Due to this, authorities issued a warrant.

Vaughn is booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
