A Jasper man escaped without a scratch after hitting a deer just north of Jasper last weekend.

71-year-old Gene H. Kieffner was driving her 2014 GMC Sierra northbound on US 231, just north of County Road 400 N around 9:30 pm August 10th, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A Sheriff’s Office Deputy says Kieffner’s truck collided with a deer that came onto the highway.

Officials estimated damages to be between $1,000 to $2,500 dollars.
