Later this year, U.S. Representative for Indiana and Congressman, Larry Bucshon, will retire from 14 years of service to the United States Congress.

Congressman Bucshon represented the 8th Congressional District. With Buschon’s announcement, 3 districts in Indiana will not have an incumbent running for the congressional seat including the 8th, 5th, and 3rd Congressional Districts.

Much of Bucshon’s legislative focus while in office was on health care, including recent efforts to modernize the organ transplant process and lower costs. Other priorities, included energy production, halting undocumented immigration at the southern border, and opposing abortion rights.

Congressman Bucshon did not explain why he chose to retire at this time.
