Yesterday evening, at around 10:51 p.m. on February 4th, 2024, the Washington Police Department swiftly responded to reports of a disturbance involving gunfire in the 1800 block of McCormick Ave.

This incident resulted in three individuals being shot. 58-year-old Aracely Torres was pronounced deceased at the scene, while Concepcion Rodriguez Martinez and Yarely Santiago Torres were promptly transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention. The perpetrator, Abel Dubon Castillo, was also hospitalized after the incident, also sustaining injuries.

Assistance in the ongoing investigation is being provided by various agencies, including the Indiana State Police, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, the Daviess County Prosecutor’s Office, the Daviess County Coroner’s Office, and the Daviess County DCS.
