Jasper Community Arts is gearing up to host the 3rd Annual Juneteenth Community Event at the Atrium in the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center. This event, held on June 8th, from 11 AM to 1 PM, commemorates the anniversary of June 19, 1865, marking the end of slavery in the United States.

The celebration, in collaboration with the Jasper Public Library, promises an engaging afternoon filled with various activities and offerings. Attendees can expect to find multiple booths representing historical figures, events, and activities, all curated by community members and organizations.

The event will showcase delicious soul food samplings, live music, poetry readings, arts and crafts, trivia, story reading, as well as various activities and games suitable for all ages. This Open House event is family-friendly and free for all to attend.
