The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office proudly announces the addition of Emily Haas to their team as a new Deputy/Social Worker. Emily brings a rare combination of law enforcement and social work experience, making her a significant asset to both the department and the community.

Emily’s journey to the Sheriff’s Office began during her time as a Probation Officer, where interactions with deputies and detectives sparked her interest in law enforcement. With both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work and extensive experience in the criminal justice system, she is eager to use her skills to make a positive impact.

In her new role, Emily is excited to serve as a resource for the community, focusing on expanding support for victims of crimes, assisting individuals with mental health needs, and enhancing crisis response. Emily’s expertise in mental health will also contribute significantly to the team’s success as she aims to improve services within the department.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys outdoor activities with her friends, family, and her dog, Blu. Her love for nature and adventure is a big part of her life.
