The Crawford County Parks Department has announced an extensive renovation plan for the fairgrounds arenas in Marengo, Indiana. The “Arena Revitalization Plan” aims to restore both the main and secondary arenas at the local fairgrounds facility, with completion expected by summer 2025.
According to park officials, the arenas have deteriorated over recent decades, and the renovation will transform them back into vital community resources. The comprehensive project includes installing new arena footing, fencing, lighting, and electrical upgrades, water system improvements, bleacher additions, and necessary excavation work.
This initiative marks the first major project for the newly formed “Friends of the Fairgrounds” support group. Concept renderings display the planned transformation from the current grounds to properly maintained arena spaces with improved facilities.
Beyond the arena renovation, the Crawford County Parks Department has outlined several other prospective developments including walking trails, playground renovation, and barn ventilation additions.

The fairgrounds, located in Marengo across from the Junior-Senior High School at 1095 SR 66, are seeking community support through various sponsorship and donation options. Interested parties can contact the parks department at 317-762-3571 or email parksmanager@selectcrawfordcounty.com.
