The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure planned for State Road 61 in Pike County.

Beginning on or around Monday, August 4, crews will close State Road 61 near Winslow. This closure will occur at the railroad crossing between Mill Street and East County Road 375 S.

This road closure will allow for a railroad crossing replacement project. Work is anticipated to take a week to complete, depending on the weather.

The official detour for this project is State Road 56 to State Road 257 to State Road 64. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert in work zones.
