Emergency crews responded Monday morning to a vehicle fire along State Road 37 in Orleans, just outside the lot of Babcock Motors. The fire was reported around 11:19 a.m. on August 4, prompting a dispatch of units from the Orleans Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived, they encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the engine compartment of the vehicle. Crews from Engine 18 acted quickly and were able to bring the fire under control within minutes.


Also assisting at the scene were the Orleans Police Department, Orange County Emergency Management Agency, and Magner Towing. No injuries were reported, and no nearby structures or vehicles were affected.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
