Residents are encouraged to safely dispose of unused or expired medications during National Drug Take Back Day on April 25.

The spring event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Indiana State Police Post in Jasper, providing a convenient location for proper medication disposal.

Officials say the initiative helps prevent misuse of prescription drugs and protects the environment by ensuring medications are discarded safely.

For those unable to attend, the Jasper Police Department offers a 24/7 medication drop box for unused or expired medications. Liquids and syringes are not accepted.

Community members are encouraged to take advantage of these options to help keep the area safe and reduce the risk of prescription drug misuse.
