Early voting in Dubois County is off to a strong and encouraging start this primary season, with voters already turning out to make their voices heard. Local election officials report steady participation and are reminding residents that additional convenient opportunities are still ahead.

This Saturday, April 25 marks the first Saturday of early voting in the county. Voters will have four locations to choose from, all open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including the Courthouse Annex, 35th Street Fire Station in Jasper, the Huntingburg Event Center, and the YMCA in Ferdinand. Officials say the expanded access is designed to give voters greater flexibility.

Meanwhile, the deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot is quickly approaching. Applications must be received by the Clerk’s Office by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, or submitted online by 11:59 p.m. that same day.

Voters casting ballots in person are reminded to bring a valid photo ID. Election officials encourage residents to make a plan ahead of time to ensure a smooth voting experience.
