Registration is now open for the 16th annual Mr. Lincoln’s Neighborhood 5K Run/Walk, scheduled for Saturday, May 2 at Lincoln State Park in Spencer County.
The event, hosted by the Friends of Lincoln State Park in partnership with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, will begin at 9:00 a.m. CDT. The race will start and finish at the Lake Lincoln Beach parking lot, following a familiar route with a slight adjustment due to ongoing dam construction.
Participants can expect a course that includes mostly paved park roads along with portions of hiking trails. The event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and experience levels.
Awards will be presented to top male and female finishers in both adult and youth divisions, and additional random door prizes will be given away. Prizes include Indiana State Park annual passes, Lincoln Amphitheatre tickets, St. Louis Cardinals tickets, gift cards, and more.
Early registration is available for $25 through May 1, with race day registration set at $30. Participants who register early will have priority for a commemorative America 250-themed event t-shirt while supplies last.
Organizers note that park entrance fees are not included in registration and will be $7 for in-state vehicles and $9 for out-of-state vehicles.
Proceeds from the event will support the Friends of Lincoln State Park, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding park projects and programs.
