The Dubois County Chamber of Commerce has awarded its Quarterly Non-Profit Grant to Girls on the Run of Southwest Indiana, recognizing the group’s efforts to empower young girls through a combination of social-emotional learning and physical activity.

The organization serves Dubois County by partnering with local elementary and middle schools to deliver structured, curriculum-based programming. The lessons are designed to build confidence, strengthen leadership skills, promote healthy decision-making, and encourage emotional resilience, while also emphasizing lifelong physical wellness.

Chamber officials say the grant highlights the organization’s continued impact on youth across the community.

The $500 award will be used to enhance the experience at the group’s upcoming Celebratory 5K, set for April 25 in Jasper. The event serves as a culminating celebration for program participants and brings together families, supporters, and community members.

Funding will go toward improvements at the finish line, along with event signage and sponsor recognition elements aimed at creating a more visible and professional atmosphere. Planned upgrades include branded signage, photo backdrops, and displays recognizing community partners.

The Dubois County Chamber of Commerce says it remains committed to supporting local non-profits and businesses that contribute to the overall growth, wellness, and vitality of the community.
