William J. Burnette, age 74, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away surrounded by family at 8:08 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Deaconess Memorial Medical Center in Jasper.

Bill was born in Franklin, Indiana, on June 5, 1951, to Joseph and Beryle (Dayhoff) Burnette. He married Susan Goepferich on July 3, 1976.

He retired from Farbest Food Inc as a maintenance technician.

He enjoyed Nascar and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan Burnette, Jasper; two sons: Brian (Jayme) Burnette, Jasper; and Michael Burnette, Jasper; two grandchildren: Kobe and Jordan Burnette, two brothers: Stanley Burnette and Bruce Burnette, and sister, Bonnie Tibby.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Beverly Ross.

A Celebration of Life for William J. Burnette will be held at a later date.
