Three people were taken into custody Wednesday morning after local authorities served an arrest warrant for unlawful possession of a Syringe at a Huntingburg residence. The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says at about a quarter after 10 they along with officers with the Huntingburg Police Department went to a home along the 800 block of East 8th Street to attempt to serve the felony warrant on 24-year old Tanner Opel.

Authorities say they made contact with 4 people in the residence and conducted a search of the home in an attempt to locate Opel. Deputies say while searching for Opel officers noticed indications of drug trafficking and drug use inside the residence. Opel was ultimately located hiding in a shower area of a bathroom.

A second search was made for narcotics. Officers located a small amount of marijuana, a baggie containing approx. one gram of methamphetamine, several syringes and some very large pieces of other methamphetamine.

The total amount of meth was over 10 grams. Also a .45 caliber handgun was also located during the search. Opel was arrested on a Dubois County Superior Court warrant for possession of a syringe – A Level 6 felony. A Level 2 Felony count of Dealing in methamphetamine over 10 grams while in possession of a firearm. Possession of methamphetamine over 10 grams while in possession of a firearm a Level 4 felony And possession of paraphernalia a Class C Misdemeanor.

 

Two other people were placed under arrest. They include:

22-year old Larry Dillon Jr. and 26-year old Lindsey Bowman of Huntingburg.
Dillon is looking at charges of Dealing in methamphetamine over 10 grams while in possession of a firearm a Level 2 felony. A Level 4 Felony Count of Possession of methamphetamine over 10 grams while in possession of a firearm and a Class C Misdemeanor count of possession of paraphernalia.

And 26-year old Lindsey Bowman of Huntingburg is charged with Dealing in methamphetamine over 10 grams while in possession of a firearm a Level 2 felony.

Possession of methamphetamine over 10 grams while in possession of a firearm a Level 4 felony and possession of paraphernalia a Class C Misdemeanor.
