The Patoka Lake Reservoir avoided a spillway event, for now.

The Reservoir received less rain than originally forecasted for the basin, causing the water to not reach the spillway crest as predicted.

The U.S Army Corps of Engineers will continue to monitor the situation and is working to gain flood control storage as soon as possible.

For most of the summer, the lake is expected to stay above the target summer pool elevation of 536 feet. It will take time for the late to regain all of its flood storage capacity.

The Corps will continue to work with stakeholders to reduce the lake level while keeping the community informed. Please check back updates.
