A dispute between three men in Washington erupted into gunfire and sent all three to jail Wednesday morning.

About a quarter after 10 Wednesday morning Washington Police received a report of shots fired in the area of N.W. 15th Street and Vincennes Avenue.

Police say at least one of the men was driving a black passenger car and that multiple shots had been fired.

Officers later located the vehicle and began interviewing people.

Washington Police Sgt. Greg Diestch says it appears the incident started as a dispute over money.  Diestch says  it was over all of them saying they owed each other money. He says the confrontation then turned physical and then multiple guns broke out and shots were fired.

Police say in all five shots were fired.

Washington Police took 27-year old Semsair Paul, 29-year old Dee St. Juste and 23-year old Kendly Baptiste all of  Washington into custody. All three men were charged with possession of a handgun without a license and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

All three were taken to and booked into the Daviess County Security Center.
