Two searches by State Police Officers with State Parole Officers late last week led to drug charges filed against six people two of which from Perry County. Friday afternoon a pair of troopers with the Indiana State Police and a State Parole Officer conducted a parole search at a home along the 100 block of First Street in Cannelton.
Police say during the search, drug paraphernalia was found inside the residence, and four individuals inside the home at the time of the search were cited into court on Class C Misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charges. A second parole search at a home located along the 1600 Block of Tell City Street in Tell City uncovered methamphetamine, hypodermic needles, synthetic drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Police say two suspects inside, 33-year old Michael Nix and 22 year old Tiffany Dukes were placed into custody. The two were taken without incident to the Perry County Jail.
Nix was charged with Level 6 Felony counts of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle (six counts) and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
A Class A Misdemeanor count of Possession of a Synthetic Drug and A Class C Misdemeanor Count of Possession of Paraphernalia.
