A Tell City pair were arrested Friday on numerous drug charges, in the presence of a four year old child. Friday morning a trooper with their Indiana State Police was patrolling State Road 37 near French Ridge Road in Perry County when he pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation.

While speaking with the driver, 25-year old Anthony Garner of Tell City, the trooper could smell the odor of burnt marijuana from inside the vehicle. The trooper conducted a search of the vehicle which lead to the discovery of several baggies of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The investigation also determined that Garner was driving while his license had been suspended. Garner had two passengers in the vehicle, 21-year old Carlee Burton of Tell City, and a four year old child. Burton was cited into court on multiple charges and was released from the scene due to a medical condition.

Garner was placed into custody, transported and lodged in the Perry County Jail where he was booked on charges of:

– Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Neglect of a Dependent both Level 6 felonies

Driving While Suspended with a Prior Conviction a Class A Misdemeanor

A Class B Misdemeanor count of Possession of Marijuana and a Class C Misdemeanor count of Possession of Paraphernalia. Burton was cited for Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Neglect of a Dependent both Level 6 felonies.

Possession of Marijuana a Class B Misdemeanor and a Class C Misdemeanor count of Possession of Paraphernalia.
