Clara M. Margarida, age 92 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 1:05 a.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Clara was born in St. Anthony, Indiana on September 21, 1924 to August and Clara (Miller) Troxler. She married William Margarida on November 12, 1944 in Newark, NJ. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1983.

Clara retired as an administrative assistant for the auditor’s office in the Dubois County Courthouse.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, crafts, hummingbirds, and plant and flowers.

Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Jean Griffin and Gina Frick (Roy), both of Huntingburg. One son, Arthur Margarida (Ruth), Jasper, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one sister, Irma Bromm, St. Anthony.

Preceding her in death beside her husband were five sisters, Cornelia Hauser, Augusta Sternberg, Beatrice Elmore, Ruth Klueh, and Marian Schmidt, and one brother, Anthony Troxler.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Clara M. Margarida will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Tuesday January 31, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
