Philomena D. Gogel, 77, of Mariah Hill, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

She was born August 11, 1939 in Tell City to Taylor and Catherine (Peter) Jones. Philomena married Andrew “Jack” Gogel on September 7, 1959 in St. Pauls Catholic Church in Tell City.

Philomena was a member of Mary help of Christians Catholic Church. She was a religious education teacher and volunteered at Scenic Hills Care Center for 25 years. She was a 4H Leader for 19 years.

Philomena is survived by her husband, Andrew “Jack” Gogel of Mariah Hill; one son, Mark (Terri) Gogel of Dale; two daughters, Kimberly (Jeff) Sibrel of Santa Claus, Annette “Annie” Gunselman and companion Sarah Ewart both of Santa Claus; one brother, Wayne A. (Rita) of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Taylor and Tucker Gogel, Whitney Lynn, Logan and Lauren Sibrel, Kirstie and Matthew Gunselman. Philomena was preceded in death by one sister, Ramona Jones in infancy.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1-7:00 PM CDT at Mary Help of Christian Church in Mariah Hill and Monday from 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM CDT.
