Veril McClure, age 89, of Augusta, Indiana passed away at 5:15 a.m., C.D.T., on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.

He was born January 14, 1928, in Stendal, Indiana to Hoyt and Florence (Lee) McClure. He was united in marriage to Mina M. Patterson in May of 1999 at Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church in Augusta. Veril worked in mechanical maintenance at Alcoa; was a member of Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church; and enjoyed fishing trips to Lake Okeechobee in Florida. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alberta (Shelton) McClure, who passed away on January 16, 1997; one brother, Robert McClure; one sister, Janice Milton; and his grandson, Clint McClure.

He is survived by his wife, Mina M. McClure of Augusta; two sons, Kerry (Vicki) McClure and Mark McClure both of Winslow; four stepchildren, John (Eowyn) Gregory of Huntingburg, Dorleskia (Larry) Maikranz of Newburgh, Joseph Gregory of Boise, Idaho, and Angela (Aron) O’Neal of Stendal; by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Veril McClure will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church in Augusta with burial to follow at Augusta Cemetery. Pastor Jerry “Tuffy” Blackwell will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Friday; and also at the church from 1:00-2:00 p.m., E.D.T., Saturday, prior to the funeral.
