Rose Marie “Toots” Kunkler, age 79, of St. Anthony, Indiana, passed away at 1:49 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Toots was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on September 10, 1937 to Leo and Philomena (Stetter) Horney. She married Clarence “Ponce” Kunkler on August 30, 1958 in St. Anthony Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2017.

Toots retired from Masterbrand where she had worked for several years.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Campus and the St. Anthony Christian Mothers.

She enjoyed traveling and flower gardening, and spending time with her two cats and her dog, Buddy.

Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Tuggle (Kevin) and Glenda Theising (Jeff), both of Jasper, and one half-brother, Gary Stasienko (Beth), Painesville, OH.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rose Marie “Toots” Kunkler will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2017, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel and one hour before services at the church. St. Anthony Parish will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish or to a favorite charity.
