Authorities took a Washington man into custody late last week on a warrant for child molesting.

20-year old Jacob Norrington was placed under arrest this past Friday.

A probable cause affidavit says back in May Norrington inappropriately touched a 3-year-old child. On May 24 a detective with the Washington Police Department received a call from Loogootee police about a man who reported his 3-year-old child had been inappropriately touched by a male subject in Washington.

On May 25, a forensic interview with the child was completed and it was determined that Norrington had touched the child’s private area one time at a home in Washington.

Police spoke with Norrington who first denied touching the child but then admitted he had grabbed the child’s crotch area and that doing so had aroused him.

Norrington appeared in court in the custody of the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department Monday. His bond has been set at $100,000. He is set to appear in court again Nov. 27.
