Jill A. Ernst, age 42, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 2:09 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at home.

Jill was born in Jasper, Indiana, on June 16, 1976, to Larry and Clara (Padgett) Hall.  She married Mark Ernst on October 17, 1998, in St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, Indiana.

Jill was a 1994 graduate of Northeast Dubois High School.

She worked as a call center supervisor at German American Bank for many years.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland and participated in CHRP.

She enjoyed going on trips to Las Vegas, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Mark Ernst, Jasper, IN, one son, Landon Ernst, Jasper, IN, parents, Larry and Clara Hall, Dubois, IN, two brothers, Jarod (Melissa) Hall, French Lick, IN, Jason Hall, Dubois, IN, mother-in-law, Barbara Ernst, Jasper, IN, maternal grandmother, Anastasia Padgett, Loogootee, IN, paternal grandfather, Cleo Hall, Dubois, IN, one brother-in-law, Brian Ernst, Jasper, IN, one sister-in-law, Lisa (Mick) Ruhe, Jasper, IN, several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are one sister, Jolene Hall, and her father-in-law, Lenny Ernst, maternal grandfather, Guy Padgett, and paternal grandmother, Gertrude Hall.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jill A. Ernst will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019,  at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Kesem I.U. or to the wishes of the family.
