Dubois County once again shares the top spot for the lowest unemployment rate.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development released the county by county rates yesterday.

It’s a three-way tie once again for Bartholomew, Dubois, and Gibson counties. For July, all three counties had an unemployment rate of 2.6 percent. This is a slight increase from the 2.5 percent rate in June.

Numbers for the surrounding counties include Daviess County at 2.8 percent, Martin at 2.7 percent, Warrick and Spencer Counties at 3.2 percent, Pike County at 3.5 percent, Orange at 3.7 percent, Perry at 3.6 percent, and Crawford County at 4.0 percent.

The statewide unemployment rate for July was 3.4 percent, which is still lower than the national rate of 3.7 percent.
