Indiana State Police Jasper Post is welcoming a new Public Information Officer.

ISP Superintendent Douglas G. Carter promoted Detective David Henderson to Sergeant and PIO on Sunday.

Henderson is an Orleans native and graduated from Orleans High School in 1989. After graduating he went to Vincennes University for two years and received an Associate’s Degree in Law Enforcement.

While going to Indiana University, Henderson was selected to attend the 50th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in December 1993.

After enduring 20 weeks of vigorous training, Henderson was appointed and assigned to the Jasper District.

Throughout his career, Henderson has served on the Tactical Intervention Platoon/Riot Team, Jasper District Interdiction Unit, a Crime Scene Investigator, and a Jasper District Detective.

Henderson’s new responsibilities include issuing news releases, responding to media inquiries, leading and facilitating informational programs for the community, as well as maintaining the Jasper District’s social media accounts.
