Thousands of people filtered through downtown Jasper over the weekend, getting in the Christmas spirit.

Jasper O’Tannenbaum Days is held every year after Thanksgiving and gives families the chance to relax and have some good old-fashioned family fun.

Santa paid a visit to the Courthouse Square over the weekend, taking pictures with kids at his little Christmas house located right on the square.

And families even had the opportunity to take a horse-drawn carriage through the city.

Throughout the weekend, local shops also had special hours and deals for customers.

Executive Director at the Jasper Chamber of Commerce, Nancy Eckerle, tells why it’s important to shop local during the holiday season.
