Two Southridge students have placed in a state competition.

Southridge High School students Sara Hughes and Audriana Craig recently participated in the State Career Development Conference. The two placed third in Project Learning, a first for this category in the state.

Craig and Hughes are part of the High School Jobs for America’s Graduates Program, otherwise known as JAG.

JAG is a state-based, national non-profit organization within the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. In the Indiana Department of Workforce Development’s Region 11, including Vanderburgh, Posey, Pike, Perry, Gibson, Knox, Warrick, Spencer and Dubois counties, the program is administered within the WorkOne system and directed by the region’s Workforce Development Board.

Region 11’s JAG Program started in the 2007-2008 school year and is now offered in eight area high schools, including Evansville Bosse, Mt. Vernon, Southridge, Vincennes Lincoln, Pike Central, Tell City, Princeton Community, and Gibson Southern.
