A fire in Birdseye claimed a life Monday night.  Birdseye firefighters received the call shortly before 9pm of a house fire at the corner of Cherry and 2nd Street.  Birdseye Fire Chief Dave Smith told the news department one person died in the fire. 

17 firefighters and 4 trucks responded to the scene of the fatal fire.  An autopsy was scheduled for this afternoon. No other information has been released.
