The Memorial Hospital Foundation hosted its 12th biennial Gala on Saturday, November 4,2023, at West Baden Springs Hotel. This year’s event theme was “Roaring 20s”, and over 650 guests attended the black-tie affair, which included a silent auction, dinner, drinks, and dancing. In total, a net amount of $273,850 was raised to benefit Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s Emergency and Trauma Services Unit.

“We are so very grateful for the event attendees, sponsors, silent auction donors and volunteer committee members who made the evening possible,” said Deidra Church, Memorial Hospital Foundation Director. “The impact that amount of money will have on our Emergency and Trauma Services is momentous and will directly impact their ability to provide life-saving care to those in need.”

Funds raised will go toward training for emergency and trauma services caregivers, state-of-the-art equipment, collaboration tools, and more. Nearly 30,000 patients were seen in Memorial Hospital’s emergency room last year, with 420 being registered as trauma patients.

Co-chairs for the 2023 event were Elisabeth Luff and Steve Wigand. Additional committee members were: Darla Blazey, Christopher Blue, Donna Buehler, Deidra Church, Sr. Renee Cunningham, Whittney Huff, Ann Knies, Shelly Lange, Janae Lange-Wendholt, Karen Lilly, Angie Rudolph, Donna Schepers, Alisha Schwenk, Allison Stallings, Lu Ann Sorgius, Margie Vaught, and Jody Verkamp.
