The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure for State Road 61 in Pike County.

Beginning on or around Monday, July 15, crews will close State Road 61 in Pike County near Spurgeon. This closure will occur just north of County Road 900 South.

This closure is for a thin deck overlay project to the bridge over the South Fork Patoka River. Work is expected to take a week to complete, depending on the weather.

The official detour for this project is State Road 68 to State Road 57 to State Road 64. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure.
