The Loogootee Police Department took to social media on Tuesday evening to remind the public of how to keep their automobiles safe and deter theft.

LPD is reminding residents to keep their vehicles locked and to also park near or under street lights and video cameras.

This public reminder comes as a recent string of vehicle break-ins have been on the rise.

The Loogootee Police Department would also like to remind its residents that if you see someone trying to break in, do NOT confront them, call 911.
