The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department is proud to announce the graduation of Deputies Tyler Smith and Dalton Sheckells from the 233rd Basic Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Class. The graduation ceremony, held on Friday, marked the beginning of their careers in law enforcement, and both deputies are eager to serve the Crawford County community.
Sheriff Jeff Howell and the entire department extended heartfelt congratulations to the new deputies, expressing confidence in their abilities and enthusiasm for their return. “We are thrilled to welcome Deputies Smith and Sheckells back to the department,” said Sheriff Howell. “Their dedication and hard work at the academy have prepared them to take on their roles with professionalism and commitment.”
Deputy Tyler Smith will be assigned to patrol the roads of Crawford County, where he will work to ensure the safety and security of local residents. His presence on the streets will enhance the department’s efforts in maintaining law and order across the county.
Deputy Dalton Sheckells will take on the crucial role of School Resource Officer (SRO) at East Crawford Elementary School. In this position, Deputy Sheckells will be responsible for the safety of the students and staff, while also serving as a positive role model and resource for the school community.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department is excited to have Deputies Smith and Sheckells back on the team and looks forward to the positive impact they will make in their new roles. Congratulations to Deputy Tyler Smith and Deputy Dalton Sheckells on this significant achievement!
