Dubois County Clerk Amy Kippenbrock are reminding residents that the deadline to register to vote or update your voter registration for the May 5, 2026, Primary Election is Monday, April 6, 2026. This deadline applies to registering online, by mail, or in person.
Voter registration is required for all eligible Hoosiers who wish to cast a ballot in the upcoming primary. Indiana law requires that registration forms be received by April 6, 2026, or completed online by 11:59 p.m. on April 6th in order to be processed in time for the primary election.
Who Can Register:
Voters must be United States citizens, Indiana residents, and at least 18 years old on or before the next general election (November 3, 2026.) Those who have moved, changed their name, or have not voted recently should check their registration status and update it if needed.
How to Register:
- Online: Visit www.IndianaVoters.in.gov to register or update your registration.
- By Mail: Mail your completed voter registration form so that it is received in the Dubois County Clerk’s office by April 6, 2026.
- In Person: Drop off your registration form at the Dubois County Voter Registration Office before the close of business on April 6th.
Please note that you cannot register to vote on Election Day itself, so meeting this deadline is essential for participation in the primary.
Once registered, voters can participate in early in-person voting starting April 7 through May 4 at designated locations throughout Dubois County — offering added convenience ahead of the May 5 primary.
