US Highway 231 was closed for about two and a half hours last night when a box truck turned over on its side.

At around 7:30 last night, the St. Henry Fire Department were called to the report of a Large Penske Rental Box Truck that turned over on its side in the northbound lane about 1/8 mile south of County Road 1000 S on US 231. The box part of the truck and it’s fully loaded contents of salvaged home interior products and trash scattered on the highway and roadside.

The St. Henry Fire Department was on the scene at about 7:38 PM. Ruxer Wrecker Service was contacted for truck recovery, Steckler Trenching was contacted for a mini excavator and dump truck, and Luebbehusen Ag Repair was called for a second dump truck. This was to remove and haul away trash and household items.

US Highway 231 was closed for approximately 2 and a half hours. The St. Henry Fire Department had two trucks and eleven firefighters on scene.
