Lighting from last night’s storm caused a house fire that left a family without a home

At around 8:30 last night, multiple reports came in of a house fire. According to reports, lighting struck a home in the Loogootee Area near US 50 at the Daviess County Line. Everyone in the home made it out of the fire without injuries, however, the house was a total loss. Crews were on the scene for roughly two and a half hours.

If you would like to donate clothing to help the family, you can donate Men’s size 2XL shirts, women’s size 2XL and small shirts, men’s size 38 and 34 pants, women’s size 2XL and 6 pants, men’s size 12 shoes, and women’s size 10 and 7 shoes.

Anyone who would like to donate can drop off contributions at Loogootee City Hall.
