St. Henry Fire Department took care of a tractor fire yesterday evening.

Just before 6:00 PM last night, St. Henry Fire Department got a report of a tractor out in a field that was fully engulfed in fire. The operator reported that the driver of the tractor was brush hogging down a field of grass at the time when the tractor caught fire.

Firefighters were dispatched to 10153 S 200 W in Huntingburg. Two tanker trucks were used to fully extinguish the fire with only water being needed to subdue the flames. The fire reportedly started in the engine compartment of the tractor, however, the cause of the fire is unknown.

No one was harmed in the fire, however, the tractor was a total loss. The brush hog attachment was not harmed. St. Henry Fire Department were on the scene for about 40 minutes with three trucks and 9 firefighters on the scene.
