Jasper businessman Mike Braun of Jasper has decided he’d like to serve another two years in the Indiana General Assembly representing District 63.   

The District consists of Bainbridge, Boone, Columbia, Hall, Harbison, Madison and Marion townships in Dubois County and parts of Pike, Daviess and Martin counties.

Mike Braun PhotoBraun who just began his second year at the Statehouse as the District 63 State Representative from Jasper says he’s been there a year now mostly learning the process.

He says now that that’s been done he will be more involved in some significant decisions, especially as it relates to infrastructure that will impact our state for years to come.

A 1972 graduate of Jasper High School, Braun has a bachelor’s degree from Wabash College and a master’s degree from Harvard. He owns Meyer Distributing and Meyer Logistics in Jasper.

In the Indiana House of Representatives, Braun serves on the education, roads and transportation, and ways and means committees.

He is a board member of the Conexus Indiana Logistics Council and the I-67 Development Corp. He is a member of The Nature Conservancy, Indiana Woodland Owners Association and Quail Unlimited. He actively manages several tracts of timberland and has been awarded the Charles Deam and Pioneer Forestry awards for woodland management.

He is a past member of the Greater Jasper School Board.

Mike and his wife, Maureen, have four grown children.
