Wayne Gordon Guth, age 84, of Huntingburg, passed away at 2:45 a.m.,Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Wayne Guth Obituary Photo541            He was born February 23, 1931 in Akron, Ohio, to Arthur and Mary (Wibbeler) Guth.  He married Mildred Utz on July 11, 1954, at the Huntingburg United Methodist Church.  Mr. Guth worked as a heavy equipment mechanic.  He was employed by Green Construction and then Olinger Construction Company where he retired.  Wayne was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church and the Jasper American Legion; was a volunteer worker with Habitat for Humanity and also volunteered with the United Methodist Nomads on missions 8 years; and served in the United States Navy as a 2nd Class Engineman during the Korean War.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Glenn Guth, Herbert Guth and Leroy Guth.

Two daughters and one son-in-law,

Linda Guth Stangl of St. Louis, Missouri,

Sharon (Steve) Rayls of Huntingburg, Ind.;

Two sons and one daughter-in-law,

Jerry (Jeanie) Guth of Petersburg, Ind.,

Donald Guth of Winslow, Ind.;

by (17) grandchildren and (14) great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Wayne Guth will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., onSaturday, January 16, 2016, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at the Santa Claus United Methodist Church Cemetery in Santa Claus, Indiana.  Reverend Keith Chanley will officiate at the service.  Military funeral honors will be held at the graveside.
