Monty H. Buchanan, age 60 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Friday (January 29, 2016) at home.

monty buchananHe was born on June 18, 1955 in Lawrenceville, IL to Hugh and Mildred (Montgomery) Buchanan.

Monty was a former police officer in Georgia, and previously managed the Bob Evans restaurant in Jasper.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, and  a member of the Jasper Knights of Columbus, where he was a 4th Degree Knight.

He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #147, where he served as the post Chaplin, chairman of the Boys and Girls State Program, and coordinated the Oratorical Program.

Preceding him in death was his parents, Hugh and Mildred Buchanan.

A Memorial Mass for Monty H. Buchanan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday (February 5, 2016) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

There will be no visitation at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Homes, private burial will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
